EXCLUSIVE; Court acquits lawyer Jack Bigambo in Forgery charges, Rebukes prosecution over fake testimonies

Famous city lawyer Jack Bigambo is now a free man after a Milimani Court acquitted from the forgery charges he was facing citing fake testimonies alluded in court by the the prosecution.

The court noted that the evidence before it were insufficient and unrealistic.

While delivering her Judgement, Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Martha A Nazushi noted that the evidences alluded in court by EACC and other witness were faked and unrealistic.

“I have carefully considered the defence and prosecution evidence and i find that the prosecution evidence is insufficient. I also not with concerns that the prosecution who are the officers of the court decided to give false information to the court concerning the accused person,” She said.

The EACC according to the court papers had fabricated the charges against Bigambo if anything alluded in court is something to go by.

She added, ” PW2 on oaths stated categorical that being an employee of government and earning a non-practicing allowance she was allowed to conduct private practice business. This was and its not a true position,” the Magistrate added confirming that the witness was lying.

She said that the accused person was innocent and acquitted him in all the counts and advised on the importance of telling court the truth.

According to the charge sheet, Lawyer Bigambo had been charged in February 10, 2022 with several counts of forgery and giving false information to the police, he denied all the counts and he was released on bond.

In his defence, the no nonsense advocate put on a spirited defence and narrated to the court how he was badly charged.

Businessman Benson Mwaganyi narrated to the court on how EACC detective Abdi Noor forced him to signed a fake statement to fix Lawyer Bigambo.

” Bigambo was my advocate, detective Abdi Noor called me and forced me to sign a certain statement that he had prepared himself against Bigambo,” he told the court during the hearing.

Another detective linked to fake testimonies is Mr.Abdul Jalo, all of them stationed at EACC police station.
