Two men accused of possesing wildlife trophy worth Sh 8.4Millon have been charged at a Kajiado court.

The two; Jeremiah Tukuo and Gilbert Loishorua were charged before Principal Magistrate Jane Kamau where they denied the charges.

The court heard that theaccussed persons committed the offence on March 18 at a Petrol Station in Isinya town jointly with others not before the court.

The court heard that they were arrested with 24 pieces of Elephant tusks weighing 56kgs worth Sh8.4Million.

The said trophies had been transported by a motorcycle KMFR 882 white in colour make boxer without a permit.

When the were arraigned in court , their defence council made an oral application seeking to recover some items like motorbike and two mobile phones which are part of the exhibit.

The investigating officer however made an objection to the same and told the court that the items were legally confiscated.

” The accused signed a consent and the phones were taken for forensic analysis,” he told the court.

Concerning the motorbike the council was advised to produce an affidavit for
it to be released.

The magistrate directed that the matter proceeds on 18th June 2024 for a full hearing.
