An anonymous source, in conversation with blogger Cyprian Nyakundi, has disclosed the reasons behind the hesitation of both Kenya Kwanza MPs and those from the Opposition to move to the recently built Bunge Towers, which have the capacity to accommodate 338 MPs.

According to the insider who was one of the people who participated during the construction of the iconic 28-floor story building, a section of MPs fear that relocating to the building would mean that they won’t pocket the monthly rent the govt has been giving them to let office spaces.

About Bunge Towers Dark secrets, the insider went on to reveal that apart from the building being built at an inflated budget of kshs 9.6 billion, the Chinese company that won the tender initially and at some point abandoned the construction as a result of a conflict of interests.

It is emerging that a local construction company colluded with top govt officials to be given the internal decoration while the Chinese company was to continue with the outside work. As a result, the Chinese company installed elevators on the outside so that materials such as cement could be transported, leaving the inside for the local construction company that had been given the tender.
“The Chinese didn’t bother connecting power on most floors, so it was pitch black and work mostly had to be postponed, leading to further delays in the project.
